Oh, joy! After years of longing for an instrument like this, I have acquired a Native American flute. Such a beautiful sound! And in a minor pentatonic scale, so anything you play sounds wonderful.

Hey, EDG, speaking of toys: I have gotten Tyler a little something for his birthday, then realized it might be sort of cruel and unusual to give him a toy without having something on hand for Alex. Any suggestions (e.g., trucks, dinosaurs, Redwall books, Plastic Cartoon Hero du Jour)?

I wouldn't worry about it. :) Alex understands birthdays pretty well.

Is there anything you want me to bring tonight? And when's the earliest we should show up? (I have to pick Alex up at day care before 4:30, so we may be arriving a little earlier than usual.)

OK. I was pretty sure that if it were a birthday *party* it wouldn't be a problem, but not so sure about a present disassociated from all the usual birthday hoopla.

I'm teleworking from UMD today, so the commute home is trivial. :-) Out at 3:30, gym... I should be home by 4:30 - which is about an hour before you can get there. So I'd say you're covered.

I think we're still good on soda... um, the 7th Sea books! Yes. Definitely need those. Other than that... can't think of much.
