Life imitates art

The art in question being the fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk. Kid payed out 5,000 euros for "ecstacy" which ended up being dried beans. He tried to tell the cops the man robbed him of his euros, but the story didn't add up, and the kid finally confessed to attempting to buy drugs - but that allowed the cops to arrest the guy on drug trafficking charges (although I'm not quite sure how that worked).

The Manolo, he has been running the super fantastic essay contest this month, to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of the shoeblog. The winner, which is most excellently funny and should be read in its entirety, begins:

Fun with slow cooker

Stupid easy to make, tasty in a Germanic sort of way.

Put into slow cooker:
1 jar sweet and sour red cabbage
1 large apple, cut into roughly 1" chunks (whatever apple variety you like is fine)
2-3 boneless pork cutlets

Cook about 4 hours on low or til pork is done.
