I don't get no respect
Oct. 22nd, 2005 11:15 amAfter consulting with one of my committee members and with my advisor, we thought we had a more tractable approach to my problem (which I might have been able to begin pursuing on Monday if my advisor had read my prior emails, but whatever).
Oh, yesterday's kick-in-the-teeth Quote of the Day: "I promised four people that I would do four things, and I only got one done - and it wasn't editing your thesis. His project has a deadline." - The Advisor
Anyway. So, yes, a more tractable approach. So I virtuously haul my butt in to work, check my email, read my comics, and finally say, "I am here at work and I'd better start working, darn it."
The server, which runs the program I do my work on? Is down. Probably, my coworker (on whose machine the server is hosted) may have just turned his machine off before leaving on Friday. My office key opens his office - but they took my key away when they took away my office.
So. Well. I suppose I can try the computer labs at UMD, see if I can get any work done there.
