When I was younger, in high school, my parents bought cinnamon in bulk to add to the coffee machine, because our city water was so wretched. So I've always had a fondness for cafe Vienna.
Also? Cinnamon-flavored desserts are often right behind chocolate ones on my list of favorites. Tiramisu is a notable example; I'm also a sucker for anything cinnamon-and-honey. When younger, this was fried ice cream at the Tex-Mex restaurant. Now it's traditional sopapillas (crispy-chewy fried dough with cinnamon and honey and often (in America, anyway) ice cream).
So, although I now typically eschew sugar in my coffee, I am very much in love with Starbucks's new Cinnamon Dolce Latte. It tastes like cinnamon and honey, maybe with whipped cream somehow involved. I detected no coffee flavor at all in my cup. It was dessert in a cup.
You know, I never really liked Starbucks's drip-brewed coffee; too burnt-tasting. Their espresso beverages are fine, in my opinion, but not noticeably better or worse than those I can now get at a half-dozen other venues. But they keep finding these new and better forms of liquid crack to keep taking my money - Carmel Apple Cider, Chantico "Drinking Chocolate," and now Cinnamon Dolce Latte.
I'm glad there isn't one easily accessible on my way to work!
