I confess a recent fascination with the Basic Instinct franchise. I have never seen the original - indeed, I could not have legally entered a theatre in which it was playing in 1992 - but all the same, I have managed to almost entirely and completely rip off the Tramell character for my RPG. The only reason Odessa doesn't have a degree in psychology is that the field hasn't been invented in her world yet.

It's also comforting to know that if the NPC ends up being more laughable than menacing, I have Roger Ebert's authority to say that it's because the role "cannot be played well." :)
