Perhaps it was inevitable that reading "The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril" would bring to mind my own foray into pulp writing: [livejournal.com profile] tuneinnextweek. It's been well over a year since I did anything with Matt, Teresa and Liam. Maybe not today, but soon: I think I'll pick that story back up again.

An assassin's attack on young millionaire Matthew Cassidy at his New York estate began an escapade focused on the "Seal of Sheba," a carved stone his late father Elijah Cassidy sent back from Africa with adventureress Teresa MacInnis. In the company of Liam Gaerity, an Irishman initiated into the secrets of the Zulu spirit warriors, and Otto Gerhardt, an old schoolmate and friendly rival of Matt's, they traveled to Africa to put to rest whatever evil had been unleashed by the removal of the seal.

The "hunting demons of Anai Kwashi," the assassins with black earrings and strange thrown weapons, found them again in Africa. Dodging them from Cairo to the deepest jungles, the group, now guided by faithful Nkosi, a local hunter, finally came to the Valley of Sheba. An open clifface was between them and the valley below, and they were certain that the hunting demons would be watching it. The only way in was to make the descent at night, without light. Roped together, Liam Gaerity in the front and Matt Cassidy taking up the rear, the five were ready to attempt it...
