The Princess Pat!
Sep. 4th, 2006 07:08 pmBack in Scouts, we'd teach the kids a fun little repeat-after-me song called "The Princess Pat." This princess lived in a tree and went sailing with her "rickabamboo."
A rickabamboo?
Now what is that?
It's something made
By the Princess Pat.
It's red and gold
And purple, too
That's why it's called
A rickabamboo!
Holy cow, "Princess Pat" was the Princess Patricia of Connaught and the patroness of Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry. Although the infantry website does not mention this song, it does mention the Ric-a-Dam-Doo, the original camp colours handmade by the Princess Patricia in red, gold and purple-blue.
I had no idea!
