Thank you, baby Jesus and hypercommercialization

One of my favorite, favorite kinds of candy is Cadbury Mini-Eggs. I love Cadbury chocolate, and I think they put vanilla-flavored crack in the candy shell. Thankfully, they are only available seasonally, or I would eat way too many of them.

Yesterday, tired and cranky and seeking ice cream, I wandered into Rite-Aid and found... Cadbury Christmas chocolates. Yes indeed, they are Mini-Eggs, only rounder and less egg-like, and red, green and white instead of pastel.

Never mind that this was November 6. The Christmas candy is here, and it is good.

Quote of the Day

"'They're going to tax you into the poor house. And on your way to the poor house, you're going to see a terrorist on every corner. And when you try to run away from the terrorist, you're going to trip over an illegal immigrant.'"
- Former president Bill Clinton, stumping in Virgina, lampooning Republican charges against Democrats.

I'm not a big fan of Bill, but the man is a great speaker, and this was a great line.
