More significantly, there's today's Megatokyo. Yes, I still stick with Megatokyo, largely because of the mystery that I think this comic finally sheds some light on.

4/10 of the way there

I've officially completed Week 16 out of 40 of the pregnancy. Cross fingers, knock on wood - the morning sickness symptoms finally seem to be abating. They've been improving since Week 13 or so (the fatigue in particular lifted early), but it's only in the past couple days that my stomach has calmed down.

I still don't get the admonition to "treasure every moment" of my pregnancy. Yes, yes, it's a blessed event and I'm grateful and pleased everything is healthy, but I'd just as soon forget the four months of feeling like crap. (I'm told that "baby amnesia" will eventually set in and I will.)

On the up side, I had a "baby reality check" yesterday at the gym. After ab work on the mat, I rolled over onto my tummy to stretch out my abs - and it felt like someone had strapped a football to my lower abdomen! The pressure clearly defined my enlarged uterus. There's actually something in there, folks!

And I apparently need to learn a new abs stretch.

Dancer and Prancer and Huey

Two co-workers and I went to lunch. Driving back, we pass a helipad - I don't know if it's affiliated with the nearby Navy Yard, or the nearby Bolling Air Force Base. Anyway, a helicopter was hovering maybe thirty feet off the ground, and a line had been dropped.

The two of us who weren't driving craned our necks to look. Was it dropping off equipment? Participating in some training exercise?

On the ground, apparently fresh off of the dropped line and moving away from the helicopter, was a right jolly old elf in a red and white suit!
