Just for a change of pace...

The roads were wet but clear; at 7:30, there was still plenty of snow sticking scenically to the trees. The roads were half-empty, either because of delayed school openings or the Fed being on unscheduled leave today. It was a nice drive down to the vampires. (28 weeks pregnant = glucose screening.)
By 9:30, it was warm enough long enough that the snow was mostly off of the trees, but the rest of the drive was still blessedly... rapid. Idiot-free. Safe.
The only harsh on my mellow was finally unwrapping my new alumni card. I had anticipated a bar code on the back, enabling me to remotely access the UMD library's online journal collection at lunch today. Instead, there was a message: "You will receive your library bar code when you register your membership card at McKeldin Library." Le sigh... no time to do that until Wednesday at the earliest. C'est la vie.
