Lamaze

It turns out the two-day childbirth class the hospital offers is a marathon version of a five-day Lamaze class. On the plus side, the instructor said she gets many fewer couples missing one or more sessions due to scheduling. On the minus side, you don't get five weeks of someone reminding you to practice your breathing and Kegels.

Much of the information was not new to me, although I think the A/V presentation was good and will help it "stick" better than just having read books and articles - I've always done well with traditional lecture approaches to learning. There was a section on "Interventions" that laid out the different options available during a non-Cesearian birth in a wonderful "benefits" and "risks" format that didn't feel like it was especially pushing one way or the other.

Any class where you get a massage is a good class.

We also had a telepathy moment. We were all advised that early labor can go for 6-8 hours, and that the mother is usually happy and excited - this is before the pain gets serious. You don't need to go to the hospital during this stage, so the RN/Lamaze instructor recommended that we "find something to do" to pass the time. We both instantly thought, "Gaming?" You know, some quick little pickup game...

Geeeeeeks.

Oh... so the problem's not necessarily in my software, it's in my testing software, but I'll have to spend a few hours fixing the POS testing software to make sure my real software is working.

When you subscribe to a message, see, it's like a magazine: it keeps coming in and piling up even if you're not reading it. Only in this case, there isn't an especially easy way to glance at the covers and realize that the top six are all outdated and throw them away. Grr...
