Go figure, the church service Sunday featured "giving thanks" prominently.
Appropriately, I was soon given ample reason to give thanks for friends: Roy, who gave me a car kit that included Fix-a-Flat long ago;
rivka, who loaned me
curiousangel for over an hour on their family Sunday afternoon-time; and
curiousangel, who had the presence of mind to ask if my car insurance included roadside assistance (it did), to think that the church sexton would have WD-40 (he did), and that, in the end, the Fix-a-Flat was probably the best option after all (it was). (Somewhere along the line I've picked up the notion that Fix-a-Flat is evil and should never be used. Probably that was true in 1986 or something when I heard my dad say it.)
(Not only was the tire flat, but since it was brand new and just put on a month and a half ago, the lugnuts were so tight that one would
not come off. Hence the appeals to WD-40, roadside assistance, etc., ending in the use of the Fix-a-Flat.)
