Christmas picture trauma
Dec. 1st, 2007 04:19 pmOh my goodness.
We had a coupon for a free sitting at JCPenny. It's baby's first Christmas. Sure, let's get a picture done.
We made an appointment for 1:50, arrived on time, and were told there would be a 45 minute wait. Ooookay.
It was more like an hour. But Spud was fine. Slept for 20min, woke up happy, played a little, grinned a lot, got a little cranky, ate, was fine again. Smiled at the other babies, smiled at the other parents.
We go in for the picture. Meltdown. Something in there scared him - maybe the photographer? She was too intense? Got too close? (But he was fine with some of the other parents sitting a foot away from him.) His Infant Super Senses detected that we suddenly had Expectations and moved to foil them? We managed to get four pictures where he isn't obviously crying, but if you know him, you know those aren't his normal smiles, either. They're open-mouthed grimaces just before he's obviously crying. (Except for the one with Mama, where he just looks stoned.)
After the pictures? Perfectly fine.
Poor little guy. Maybe we'll try some DIY photos later.
