With a decongestant, an antihistamine, a painkiller, and a cough suppressant/expectorant in me, I headed out to the Guppy Gala Friday. The drugs kept me feeling pretty good til 8pm or so, when they started wearing off, and I had a good time. The maypole was not as I envisioned it, but neither was it a flop; gory details can be found on Mi Contra Fa. My voice was shot by the end of the night, and I didn't even sing that much!

Saturday was "Get Over the Cold" Day. I lazed about the house. I finished another packet of the Flashman Papers. I played with the baby for an hour while Moe went out and got groceries. We watched the finale of Season One of "Heroes." No rushing about anywhere, no packing, no driving. Excellent.

For Mother's Day, we went out to breakfast at the diner early, before the rush. I went to church for the first time in about a month, then went to the local shopping center after - chocolate croissant from the grocery store (they are the best ones I've had since college), got my glasses fixed after Spud bent them up, and did a little window shopping at the bookstore and home decor emporium. Then home to knock out a few long-delayed projects: cutting the grass out back, weeding the flowerbed in front, hanging the fabric painting Moe's mom made him for his birthday. (It's the White Horse of Uffington on green velvet. Spud was entranced.) Then the barony meeting, home and bed.

Calm before the storm; it's off to family gatherings for the next two weekends, and then an SCA event. We're zooming around until June.
