My statistics page for Mi Contra Fa shows me the Google searches people have used to find my pages. Last night saw the query "wulf eadwacer gay."

While I admire the outside-the-box thinking, the speaker of that poem is unquestionably a woman. Old English adjectives can conjugate (or is it decline?) to denote sex, apparently, and when the speaker says that she sat "reotugu," wailing, she identifies herself as female.

At least, that's what one of my sources for the translation I did said.

Cost to operate the Senate and House in 2008: $2.85 billion¹
Days the Congress is in session: Roughly 140²
Cost per day to operate the Congress: $20.4 million
Number of days we have been moaning about AIG: 4

If we get to eight days of Congressional outrage, we'll have spent the same amount as the money we're allegedly trying to get back. Then add how much the Executive Branch has spent on staffers trying to deal with this.

It was less than one percent of the bailout. There are fights not worth having. Learn the lessons about managing the money and move on.
