Tafl board - victory!

The basic grid is finally done. And I have learned that I really don't have the patience to be an embroiderer. I still have a few projects in mind (like the Order of the Owl and Apple cloak I want to make) but I don't think this is going to be a for-fun regular hobby.

Next, I ornament the center and corner squares. I'm liking the squares on the "IN" ligature on the Incipit of the Lindisfarne St John's Gospel. The three square diamonds in the uprights? The step pattern on those.
