Speak 'What' again! Thou cur, cry 'What' again! I dare thee utter 'What' again but once! I dare thee twice and spit upon thy name! Now, paint for me a portraiture in words, If thou hast any in thy head but 'What', Of Marsellus Wallace!
Between the iPad coming out, the Dear Spouse getting a netbook for "in the field" blogging, and watching a bunch of folks at a workshop last week hauling out their trade paperback-sized computers, I've caught a touch of netbook fever. They really do seem to be a good size - big enough to type on and to have a decent screen, small enough to be extremely portable.
I admit the blush came somewhat off the rose when I handled the Dear Spouse's new acquisition. There's still a fairly dense battery in that thing; it's not quite light enough to toss into a shoulder bag* and go. (A backpack, though, sure. But I can do that with a laptop, too.)
And there's return on investment; seriously, how much do I need such a thing? I work in front of a computer. We have multiple computers at home. It's a shiny toy and I'm not even sure I'd play with it all that much.
*In my world, anyway. I know some folks keep pounds and pounds of stuff in their purses or messenger bags. I consider a purse to be a necessary evil when I have to wear clothes with insufficient pockets.
