Got home last night. Walked past the same bookshelf I always walk past. Except last night, "Watchmen" leapt off of the shelf and pinned me to the floor for four hours.
Seriously. 5:30 - 9:30. Sitting on the floor in the hallway. I neglected to eat dinner.
Note to self: when the "comic book" is nearly an inch thick, it will not be a quick read.
I thought I recalled something about a "Watchmen" movie in the making. I checked this morning and sure enough... Wow. What a stupendously bad idea. I can't see a Hollywood studio making it work at all. Particularly if they think, "Ooo, superheroes. That's our 10-15 year old demographic, right?" The Cold War setting, the characters, the ending... not going to work as a summer PG-13 superhero movie.
I can't see how they can keep the ending. And if they change it, it's cheap.
