Alas, the International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence accepted only 18% of the 1300 papers they received this year, and mine was not among them. So no other-funded trip to Scotland for me.
This bothers me less than the schizophrenic nature of the reviews: Reviewer 1 thought the paper was drek, Reviewer 2 thought the paper was super, and Reviewer 3 thought it was OK. So which is it, boys?
So anyway, we'll see which of their comments we can quickly incorporate into the paper and resubmit the blasted thing to the American Association for Artificial Intelligence's conference and hope for better luck than last year.
