Not Really NaNoWriMo

I wanted to do National Novel Writing Month this year. But, with my dissertation due in April, that seemed like a bad idea. I need to be crankin' on the research this month. That means a certain amount of stress, which my little goal-driven self should not add to by also undertaking the 50,000 word challenge.

However...

I have been wanting to a) write something and b) put "The Seal of Sheba" from Tune In Next Week! into a form that, if it isn't a novel, is at least a long short story or decent novella. "The Seal of Sheba" wouldn't qualify for NaNoWriMo anyway (as I understand it) since a good bit of plot has been written already.

I think I'll see what I can do about accomplishing that by the end of the month.
