CERTifiable
Aug. 17th, 2005 09:22 amAnne Arundel County has a Community Emergency Response Team. This interests me greatly.
I don't think I'm cut out to be, say, an EMT. Several people at my old lab were, and boy howdy, that's some tough work.
But I'd like to not be one of the screaming hysterical people in an emergency. Also, to know what to do - if I don't feel like I know exactly what to do, my hunch is that I'd freeze up in that sort of situation from uncertainty. "Act in haste, repent at leisure" is closer to how I operate, rather than "It's better to do something than nothing." I can only guess that tendency would get magnified if I thought someone's life was depending on me making a good decision.
Geez... guess this means it's time to think about renewing my First Aid and CPR certs. And maybe getting a real first aid kit for the car.
