Two million euro blank canvas defaced with kiss.

All right, it's a very large blank canvas. But still... two million euros? Look, here's the canvas for $70 - on sale, even and then you'd need it stretched. You could have your very own indistinguishable knockoff of a Cy Twombly original for under $200.

I understand that a lot of modern or post-modern or whatever art is about the idea. Cool. Maybe a blank canvas is a two million euro idea as some sort of reduction ad absurdium of minimalism. It clearly appeals to somebody. But the canvas itself? Why is it more specialer than any other blank canvas?
