The current Anna Nicole Smith legal flap boggles me. Honestly, I'm not trying to know about it, but I cannot escape the headlines.
The man was not her husband. He claims to know her last wishes and may be the father of her baby daughter, but what has that to do with her burial?
I have heard, via listening to same-sex marriage proponents, that things like burial and last wishes of the deceased are one of the perogatives of marriage which life partners lack, and which surviving families can deprive them of.
How does this Howard K. Stern fellow have a legal leg to stand on? Her mother is her next of kin. This seems like it ought to be simple.
