Quote of the Day

"In the study, child care was defined as care by anyone other than the child's mother who was regularly scheduled for at least 10 hours per week."
- The AP covers a study relating child care and behavior problems. What about the child's father?!

Okay, that's just nuts.

Also: note that the effect of childcare on behavior problems was small, much smaller than the effect of actual parenting on behavior problems. And that all of the children fell into the normal range, so we're just talking about variations in normal levels of behavior issues - not behavior disorders.

But we still get the guilt-inducing banner headline, don't we?

Oh, of course! :p Hysterical media presentation of the study aside, though, I was still baffled at their definition of "child care."
