I grew up with two parents working in the biotech field. Sharing gross biological details comes naturally to me. You are warned.

When did snot become nature's great purgative?

I had a cold in January; it went away, but the stuffy nose remained. It's a Symptom of Pregnancy(tm), after all. No biggie.

Recently - either because it's third trimester or because it's allergy season - this has become An Issue. Every frickin' morning this week, I've been sick after being vertical for about 30 minutes, and it seems to be because of mucus in the stomach. More, frankly, than I would have thought should have gotten in there overnight.

And I'm not talkin' about your friendly average being sick. I mean ten minutes of my stomach trying to turn inside out to expel every last bit of the horrible toxic snot inside it.

I'm going to try an antihistamine before bed tonight. That should dry up the snot, which will hopefully mean no morning puke.

Invest in a good air filter. Right now my system is in overload from all the junk in the air, and when I don't remember to close the window and turn on the filter beforehand, I notice. Which last night resulted in literally 40min of tossing/turning before I finally zonked out (mostly by the expedient of putting my bedcover over my nose. The moist air seems to help even if I dont particularly enjoy it otherwise).

Consumer Reports had recommended some good filters. Note that the better ones have replacement filters that aren't the cheapest thing. I don't replace mine that often but still.

As we have been fighting colds we've kept pretty good tabs on what symptoms are left, and the one we all seem to have is runny noses. I hope that's simply allergies and not the rements of the plauge that we seem to have been carring for two months. Since you are expereincing similar symptoms I'd guess the allergy tabs will work fine. Check on what you take before you take it. I remember Mary being rather ill for awhile because she couldn't take allergy tabs during allergy season since she was pregnant.
