Yes, that is one of his Drum Boxes! Spud isn't to the point of holding things or even batting at things yet, but we had some friends (rivka and curiousangel) and their daughter over. She's two, so I got out the Drum Box, a tambourine, a kazoo, a triangle, and some shakers and let her go to town on them.
That wasn't long after the Spud was born... geez, I should really put the Drum Box away, huh?
Actually, third day. :) I read somewhere a recommendation to go back on a Thursday or Friday the week before you have to go back, so you get a "short week" before diving back in. So I went back July 19.
Being at work isn't itself so hard. I get some pangs of missing him from time to time, but I'm otherwise busy. It's actually somewhat harder sitting and thinking about the day taken as a whole. He and I had something like 90 minutes together when I got home, but now he's asleep (in the crib - he spit up on the sling and it's in the wash) and I'll be turning in soon, too. The sudden decrease in "quantity time" is sad.
