Well, Uncle Joey has agreed to be the officiant at the wedding. We haven't actually spoken to him yet, though - his sister (Moe's mom) asked, and he agreed. Of course, we need to talk to the man.

Conveniently, he will be visiting his sister and brother-in-law this weekend. So we will go up to visit.

What I didn't realize until yesterday was that a whole lot of aunts and uncles are visiting this weekend. Like a dozen of them. The occassion? We're coming up for a visit. It's the official "Meet Your Nephew's Fiance" get-together.

To be fair, he's already met mine. Of course, I have two aunts, two uncles, and two cousins. The dozen or so people I will meet this weekend are about a third of his aunts and uncles.

I'm not really worried so much about making a good impression. Mostly, I'm worried about keeping all their names straight and coming up with enough conversational topics to get through the weekend. I'm hoping that they'll be so thrilled to tell me embarrassing stories about Moe as a child that I can just smile, nod, and ask leading questions most of the time.

If they're showing up to vet you, I don't think you'll be called upon to start a lot of conversations. They'll want to tell you things, and they'll want to ask you questions. Be prepared to field a lot of questions about wedding plans.
