Initial Confusion

On an impulse, I bought two monogrammed Christmas stockings at Target. One had an "M," the other, a "B." I showed them to the Dear Spouse.

"Who's the 'B' for?" he asked.

"Ben!" I replied indignantly. (Ben being the actual to-be-bestowed name for Mr. Due On Thursday.)

The Dear Spouse apologized profusely. He assumed the "M" stocking was for him and couldn't figure out how I was a "B".



...okay, I have to admit that I was looking for the "S" stockings when I saw the "M" and remembered that my first child's name is not really Spud.

Ben is a great name. Colin might've been a Ben had I not had a particularly unpleasant ex with that name.

How are you feeling?

Pretty good, actually. I get tired in the afternoon - that's the main reason I decided to stay home from work. I don't actually feel too huge or uncomfortable, and the heartburn is still manageable.

They told me on Tuesday 'one week, maybe two.' I'm just hoping not to be in labor on Thanksgiving!

I'm happy to hear that you are doing so well! I hope little Ben hurries up and gets here. With Gosling#1 on Thursday the doctor said he'd see me next week, then Friday I was in the hospital because my waters broke. I hope your estimate is equally quick.
