Electric Heat

Anybody out there in LJ-Land have any idea about what it would cost to heat a 2BR apartment with electric heat in the DC/Baltimore area?

Our electric bill for the townhouse is currently (I think) in the $80 range and goes up to the $130 range during the summer, for the A/C, but our winter heat is gas. We're considering an apartment where electric is not included and the heating is electric. I'm trying to figure out monthly cost for this thing, and this hidden cost is befuddling me a bit. Are we talking $100/mo? $150? $200?

My recommendation would be to give up on figuring it out, and cheat. Call the utility company, and ask what the bills for that specific address have averaged over the last three years. They won't give you identifying information, like, the name of the resident, but they will give you information about the gas, electric, and water bills.

It doesn't have the satisfying feeling of figuring it out from the basic numbers, but it's a helluva lot easier. :)
