Update (and Thursday Dinner)
Dec. 10th, 2003 07:53 amDinner Thursday: Broiled chicken breasts, parmesan rice, broccoli
I did leave work yesterday, so I didn't read folks's comments til later. (Thanks, all!). But I ended up taking CuriousAngel's advice, in a way - I opted for Shopping Therapy at Target. More expensive than renting a movie, but hey. I got some nice shirts out of it. :-)
After talking to family, I'm less freaked out. While there is a small history of gall stones in the family, that's pretty much it for liver trouble (well, and some sclerosis, but that was pretty self-inflicted). A lot of crap goes through the liver, and it might have decided to isolate something from itself with some fat.
Also on the 'good news' side: the fatty tissue idea was more than the doctor trying to give another plausible alternative; the radiologist actually put that as his preliminary diagnosis, based on "pancreatic echo-texture." So rather than "it could be a fatty mass," it's *likely* that it's a fatty mass. Never thought I'd be so happy to hear about having some fat. :-)
And the CAT scan is for Monday morning. So that's good.
